Moise Moket is a skilled and empathic child therapist at Positive Kids, specializing in working with children who experience big emotions. While he works with children of all ages and backgrounds, Moise has a unique gift for connecting with young boys who present with behavioral challenges, offering them the support and guidance they need to thrive.
Moise holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, with a focus on Interpersonal Practice in Integrated Health, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work with a minor in Sociology from Central Connecticut State University.
With extensive experience in various settings, including as a School Social Worker at Oakland FlexTech High School and an Outpatient Therapist at Starfish Family Services, Moise brings a wealth of knowledge and a trauma-informed approach to his work. His experience includes conducting assessments, facilitating individual and group counseling, and collaborating with educators and families to improve social, emotional, and academic outcomes for students.
Fluent in Swahili and certified in Motivational Interviewing, Moise integrates a culturally responsive, strengths-based approach into his practice. He is also a member of the Greater Detroit Association of Black Social Workers and an advocate for creating supportive, empowering spaces for children and families.
